PHOTO PROMPT © Na’ama Yehuda

First there was coffee dripping down Maria’s silk blouse,

then her phone flashed a message, “Sorry vacation request denied.

George quit. You’ll need to cover his account.”

How could George not warn her?

A photo from Mom. “Remember this?”

The pink toy washer with a door that opened, and tiny hangers sized for doll clothes.

Yes, she remembered. For a moment she was there telling her mother, all smiles,  she would buy a laundromat and wash clothes for people, and hang them on hangers all in a row.

She should have stuck to that plan.

She still could. Why not?

Another week of 2023 has slipped through our lives and we’re back to a new photo prompt from Rochelle Wisoff’s Friday Fictioneer’s. This one brought to you by Na’ama Yehuda. There’s something so endearing about miniature appliances, isn’t there? It took me back to the fun of pretending life with a dollhouse or Fisher-Price play sets. I even had a McDonalds play set (actually still do). How amazing is childhood that playing preparing fast food for plastic people is a game? (Nice tongue twister, right?) Whatever comes your way today, try to see through a child’s eyes and maybe play a little! Best, Clare.

Oh, I love this. The phone beeping with bad news then a memory that sparks hope. Of course it could work. Buy the laundromat, have fun, meet people, hear their stories, and clean their clothes, the world is a happier place for all !

The power of good memories. They’re nice to have in reserve for those bad days.

Yeah! She can open her own place, with pink machines and a music beat for extra spin! 🙂

I think our interests from childhood are always with us, some transform in adult avenues and others are buried, waiting to be remembered.

    Dear Clare,

Why not open a laundromat? It might be less stressful than her present job. 😉 Nicely done.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

Laundry can be very cathartic…the sound of water, fresh scents of detergent, clothes folded in neat piles…not sure I’d want to wash other peoples clothes though but it beats scrubbing toilets and bathtubs!
