Crazy Ideas Are the Best

Long road trips are tiring on the soul,

Too much time to think, especially when everyone else slept.

Could Melanie handle three teenagers at a cabin without WiFi?

She packed plenty of goodies, even bags of kale and carrots for Trina.

But her enthusiasm waned.

The sun was rising, better enjoy the quiet before complaints start.

“Mom, that’s so cool.”

Melanie nearly swerved off the road at the sound of Remmy’s voice.

The oncoming headlights at the horizon outshined the early pinkish sun.

“Looks like we’re driving into another dimension. I’m writing about this.”

Full on super mom mode restored.

Today’s 100 words were inspired by Rochelle Wisoff’s Friday Fictioneer photo prompt. It’s quite an interesting shot isn’t it? Someone in that car has a good eye. But hey I hope this little tale inspires you to take a chance on a crazy idea to do something different that might throw a curve in the hum drum of normal. ‘New’ doesn’t always feel like it will work out and it is likely to cause work and trouble but…what rises to the top is the cream of life…discovery. Have a great day! Clare

    1. It’s like that isn’t it? When you take a chance on something that could go south, courage and faith in the idea have to be renewed again and again and success has to be recognized in the midst of small failures.
