It collects, you know.
Not because you want it to,
but if you’re not careful,
a few short tempered words here,
a few times don’t bother to call there,
a few times holding back an apology, they’re just too sensitive,
so why encourage that?
Lazy relating,
like tossing the empty hamburger wrapper,
to the back seat.
No big deal.
But it collects.
Until it’s a pile,
Not pretty.
Be careful.
It’s a chore to reconnect,
to convince that you care,
to be a part of their life.
Cause if you look straight ahead,
you won’t see what you left behind.
This weeks Friday Fictioneer photo challenge from Rochelle-Wisoff’s web-site is a graphic photo inspiring writers to tell the tale of a ‘junk car’. Follow the link to read those tales!
Relationships take time and energy and discomfort and whole lot of other things that if you don’t pay attention, you could let slide by and sit comfortably, quiet, self-absorbed and probably call yourself happy. And then you die. Yeah, so don’t write off the people in your life! You need them. They need you and life expands when we walk to the trash can and put the junk where it belongs.
Happy, happy, joy, joy! Give it a go and see what happens!
Best, Clare
