100 Word Sci-Fi Humor

Let your light shine and they’ll come, they said.

Now every stinkin bug in the universe has come my way.

All I did was broadcast free wing cleaning with the purchase of a genetic modification kit.

I know for a fact I never promised exact results.

Half of my customers are clogging my help line, but now I have a new problem.

Who knew green luminescent exoskeletons were so loved by grey flying scorpions?

I told them if I find one on my doorstep at home,

I don’t care how much they beg for a kit, I’m stomping on them.

It’s all fun and games until a flying scorpion gets mad at you! But Friday Fictioneers photo challenge is all fun, maybe some games! This photo prompt found on Rochelle Wisoff’s web-site is by © Lisa Fox

Some news to be continued in a separate post. I’ve completed the first Final Draft of “Humans in a Cage”. Here’s the super short summary. Leave a comment if you’re interested in being a beta- reader. Thanks!

The story begins with Ret, a misfit Mesmer who collects a group of random humans to find a cure for a disease to prove himself. Meanwhile, he does not know how to care for them. The humans and aliens must work together to get them out of this mess. Along the way things get complicated between two of the humans, Brandon and Gabby and two of the hermaphrodite aliens, Ret and Zate. In the midst of their relational adjustments, the planet is experiencing civil war with Ret and Zate in the fray of it.

Here’s my ‘don’t spend any money’ placeholder book cover.

Haha oh gosh, the idea of mad bugs hopped up on additional extras is a bit scary. A fun piece for a Friday.
