Parallel universes collided and no one was the wiser,

Until people noticed strange shapes appearing.

On the shell of a clam, the imprint of a diamond ring,

It sold at auction for the price of three of the gems.

Across the globe, reports came in of rocky cliffs with faces,

Inside caves stalagmites with the imprint of palm leaves.

Instagram sprouted apples, a cow, freshly poured cement, imbedded with birds wings and feet.

But the most amazing was the elm tree with the monkey grabbing for mangoes.

That one started to get the physicists curious.

Things went downhill from there.

It’s another photo challenge by Rochelle Wisoff’s Friday Fictioneers! This week’s freaky photo is brought to you by Fleur Lind. Maybe no one else saw the monkey but it’s plain as day to me! What a mess it would be if universes collided. We can barely make sense of one, straight line reality! Live on! Keep it simple. Give the monkey a banana. Best, Clare.

Look below for an announcement. No, it’s not about the book with the publisher…still waiting on that!

Anyone who has followed this blog for a while may remember the new adult suspense novel I wrote during NaNoWriMo 2020. Here’s the blurb:

Maisey, unknowingly gets caught in the web of cybercrime recruiters. She flees with her online friend Tyler, who warns her of the danger. But a little voice keeps asking if he truly is her friend, or if he is the bait to get her trapped. Follow Maisey’s detour from her predictable life, as she learns how to navigate love, buried pain and life altering deception.

This story is launching on Kindle Vella, April 26….Tomorrow!

UPDATE! Click here: KILL WORDS first Episode.

Kindle Vella is a platform to publish books in a searialized format. You can find Kill Words in Vella by opening your Kindle app and clicking on “Explore” (upper left side) or by going to Amazon page and searching for “Kindle Vella” which will go to an array of books but there’s a beautiful blue “V” at the top of the page which goes to Vella.

Tomorrow I will have links to the story and post a launch announcement again.

The first 10 episodes are free. After that tokens will be needed which are super cheap. There’s not a lot of money to be made for a writer but it sure beats what’s made in a desk drawer. Besides, I know for those who like this kind of novel, it will be enjoyable.

If that’s you please find my book on Vella and give it a thumbs up! Write a comment (review of just a few words). You can do this even if you only read the free episodes.

Many thanks! Clare

    Dear Clare,

A mashed up world indeed. Clever story. It looks like an owl to me. 😉

    Shalom,

Thank you Michael! I really felt like a monkey got stuck in the tree.

Parallel universes colliding is such a cool thought until it actually happens and strange, fascinating and inconvenient (poor dairy farmers) things happen 🙂 Although I’m not a great fan of doomsday stories, this one worked for me.

All the very best with the Vella book. Why not bring it out on Kindle?

Oh that ending. Your collided worlds sound wonderful – little unexpected things appearing where they shouldn’t. A paradise for children – and writers perhaps. But then came ‘the physicists’. End of fun.

Is that actually the image of a monkey or an owl that i’m seeing in the tree trunk? i’m sure the physicists could figure that out. 🙂

Someone suggested it could be a sloth…maybe let the experts in ‘string theory’ figure that out.

But no predictions about the outcome of the election? Or the winner of the 4:45 at Newmarket? Shame, that

Ha! Ha! That would require a Time Machine….maybe next time.
