The crush of people filled the tunnel.

They all thought it was the best escape route.

Those who had vehicles sped over the upper pavement.

Those that had only their legs ran on the lower walkway.

What else could they do when pursued by invaders in flying saucers?

Their enemy didn’t even need to show their faces,

The giant balls sent down the upper and lower paths that rolled faster than a hundred miles an hour made asking who they were and what they wanted a mute point.

One things was for sure,

Their motto wasn’t “we come in peace”.

Love the photo prompt from Rochelle Wisoff’s Friday Fictioneers. How did Dale get this shot? We may never know.

Hope you enjoy the little tale that spit out of my head when seeing this photo.

Have a great day, and don’t look behind you, just keep running until you can’t. That works for life too! Clare.

Aw! Bowling’s such a great way to make friends. Maybe they were just trying to partake in human rituals and misunderstood. Splat! Dead! Fun story. I like that the invaders made a sport out of it, instead of just blasting everyone.

The ones above ground may have a better chance. The lower level looks 100% mortality. I love that last line, Clare.

The title gave me chuckle. Reminds me of the old B&W SciFi movies we watched as kids. Good tense write, Clare.

Wonderful writing, Claire. You created a vividly horrific scene, but the title made me smile in spite of it. Love it!

I like the title, it brings levity to the rest of the story. Honestly, though, right now I wouldn’t blame them.

You’re not the first person to consider if bowling humanity away would be a good thing!

Somehow, given the sad state of affairs in which our world currently finds herself. I almost can’t blame them.

    Kill them before they multiply!

Oh, my but I am savage this morning.

    Excellent write!

Thanks Violet! I know how you feel! I can’t help but think of in the Bible Genesis 6:6,7 when God said he regretted making man. He could just send meteors raining down on us!
