Inspiration, that’s what I long for,

Something to show me that life is not

Rising in the morning,

Working through a list,

Then laying down in the evening.

Even as the sun goes through the paces that I’m weary of,

I can only nod at the show.

Today it rains, shrouding the view in gloom.

I watch as giant droplets hit the glass.

My eyes follow them sliding down,

Seeing that they turn into ice balls tumbling.

It is not cold outside.

Did that just happen?

I jump from my chair.

Nothing like a mystery to get the blood flowing.

a lot to like here – and especially the play on temperature = ice – blood boiling – and other subtle moody aspects.

Ooooo interesting twist here. I wonder what froze those giant drops…

    Dear Clare,

One never knows when the muse will strike. Nicely done.

sometimes inspiration comes when you least expect it, quietly appearing in ordinary moments and turning simple thoughts into something meaningful and creative.

Intriguing – I’m glad something pulled her out of the doldrums and back into the world.

A great description of the hamster wheel. That can’t be everything, can it. But if a little hail can pull her out of it, there’s hope.
