Bitterness is a beaded necklace,
made of small hurts, disappointments;
forfeited expectations.
Some beads are dull, unnoticed.
Some glisten with sharp attention;
diamonds not for love,
but daggers for hate,
resentment, ugliness.
Take it off,
Let the beads fall to the floor and crush them,
before they hide some other place in your soul.
And when they form again,
Pour mercy over the materials of new bitterness.
Douce them with forgiveness;
with admission that all fall short.
Adorn yourself instead,
With LOVE.
