100 Word Story

Don’t worry about it Gertrude, the Pool Master 500 will take care of all the muck.

Are you sure Marvin? Do you see how the green is coming back at the other end of the pool? It’s thicker and did you notice that the hedge is creeping closer?

That’s nonsense Gertrude! Hedges don’t move. Pools don’t grow algae in an hour. There’s nothing to worry about. All is well.

Open your eyes, Marvin. How can you ignore what’s happening in plain sight! I’m not sitting here by this pool. In fact, I think it’s time to get out of town.

This 100 word story is brought to you by Rochelle Wisoff’s Friday Fictioneers photo challenge. Follow the link to see what it’s all about. Today’s photo is from the archives of Dale Rogerson. I think she should be sitting in that chair watching the robot clean! There’s no relaxing days ahead for those who see the algae gaining and the hedges pushing out the good life they hoped for.

All is well, because Psalm 23 says so.

The pool, and its inhabitants, appear to be on the move. Time to go.
