A 100 Word Story

There was one knife missing,

The titanium dagger.

The one she kept at arm’s length just in case.

Strange things have happened in her little kitchen,

Stranger than having someone interrupt pie making

So she could carve out a flesh eating beetle from her alien friend’s arm.

Had to be done within the first hour of the beetle’s bite.

Fast and without any pain meds.

Who took the knife this time?

Only Joe-Joe spearing an apple from the basket.

Lucky, she kept the knife clean.

“Sorry Nana, it looked too good for a pie.”

“Pick a different knife next time.”

It’s Friday Fictioneers time! Check out Rochelle Wisoff’s blog to join the fun.

Not gonna lie, I would like a piece of whatever pie was being made in the photo prompt provided by Ted Strutz.

How did you like the creep factor in today’s post? You’ve got to keep your eyes on those nanas, they don’t mess around.

Did you see my last blog post? I provided some ‘must read’ stories now on Kindle Vella. See link below.

Kindle Vella Do Tella My Top 4 Picks of Vella Stories

Did you see my post about my newest WIP titled:

“Humans in a Cage”

It’s not what you think, a story like Planet of the Apes. It’s actually about a misfit alien who collects a group of random humans to find a cure for a disease to prove himself. Meanwhile he does not know how to care for them. The humans and the alien must work together to get them all out of this mess. There are aliens who think the whole experiment, misfit alien and all should be flushed which means exactly as it sounds.

Character driven/ Relationships/ Love story in a unique setting.

Leave a comment if this sounds like a book you would read. #wherearemyreaders

This grandmother is very different from the one in my story…or is she? 😉

If only Joe-Joe knew who his Nana really was! This flash made me want to read more about Nana and her adventures.

Intriguing tale, Clare! I think Nana needs to lock away her “special” knife. 🙂

My husband’s buddy had to carve a huge tick out of his arm once in a very similar manner… Ew. Nice tension, and unexpected outcome!

Sounds like a interesting YA WIP you’re working on. I love your knife story, The last time I grabbed the wrong knife to use, I got my “###” busted. I used my Gr. Grandpas WW2 swiss army knife to carve wood. Mom was NOT amused. The ending was better though, she got me my own whittling knife and I never touched Gr. Grandpa’s again until she gave it to me at my wedding .
