Idle boys spell trouble.
โBring me a pineapple Humberto. Iโll tell you a story.โ
The boy quickly delivered the juiciest fruit.
โGet me another. One not so soft.โ
Humberto shrugged and picked one, large, misshapen.
โA pretty one, not the biggest.โ
โAbuelo, why didnโt you say that first time?โ Abuelo shrugged. The boy brought another, perfect.
Abuelo took it, turned it sideways and pierced the skin with his knife.
He plunged the knife again and again.
โDone.โ
โBut you havenโt told me a story.โ
โI did.โ He split the fruit to reveal a swan.
โThe story of making a swan.โ
