Author, Near Future Sci-Fi, Dystopian, Apocalypse

Some people make their bed,

And lie in it,

Forever.

A rusty wrought-iron bed, dirty white linens, plaid blanket, and woven rug on a rough wood floor.

I say,

Get up, pull the covers off,

And take a look around.

What do you see?

Is this the room you want to sleep in?

Can you even rest here?

You don’t have to roll onto the cold floor,

Abandon sleep,

Give up on dreaming,

To escape the iron bed,

Do one thing.

Change the sheets,

Fluff the pillows,

Open the window.

Forever is a long time.
