Kindle Vella is a reader’s best friend. Have you found it yet? Instructions are at the end of this post.
Kindle Vella is a platform similar to Wattpad and Ream. All offer an array of stories. Kindle Vella has the advantage of being on the familiar Amazon and Kindle apps, no need to set-up another app/site account. Vella gives readers 10 free episodes for EVERY story. This can be anywhere from 6000 words to a full novella. Typically 10 episodes equates to 6-10 chapters of a book. There’s enough content to know if the story is what you thought it was or if it’s a bust. After the 10 episodes, additional cost for each episode is nominal with a full length novel costing about $9. However, that cost is not paid from the start so at any point a book can be abandoned.
Downsides of Vella are the same cons with Ream and Wattpad: so many stories! That means it’s an adventure finding a good story but finding a gold nugget is no less exciting than buying the newest book on the NYT bestseller’s list (probably for $16-24).
Another downside is if you get attached to an author or story and they don’t update the story. That sad situation can be avoided by only searching under completed stories.
For a voracious reader that likes to sample a buffet of genres and writing styles, Vella is the one. Coming next, my picks for the best stories I’ve come across.
How to find Kindle Vella:
If you have the Kindle app, it will appear as an option on the top of page banner.

In Amazon – search for “Kindle Vella” then click on the light blue V. It will bring you to a general page where you can choose genre and go from there. If you know the name of an author, just type that in search.
My “Velly” contest entry:
”Take My Hand” – Dystopian Romance / Love Triangle – Avery, Dana and TJ’s lives are intertwined with danger, love and heartache in 2120. Read their story.

Please search in Amazon or Kindle app under “Clare Graith” and choose the story “Take My Hand” and cast a vote by pressing “+ Follow” button.
Following does not result in more emails. Individual names of followers are not visible to author (aka I will not know if you do not follow, or you do follow).
I appreciate you’re considering to follow this story and truly hope you read it.
