Another place, another time is where I ought to be,
Now is never, now is nowhere, there’s nothing in it for me.
I have to move along, drag along, through each passing day,
And hope that the future, the tomorrow will bring something better my way.
I live my life, my years, for the future but the future keeps becoming the past.
Each day that passes, that ends, is not much different than the last.
So this is my life now, this time, and I hope I’ll take this poem out one day,
to find that things have changed, are different, then I can throw this poem away.
Not going to lie, being a teenager is not fun. So much life ahead but nothing to do but go to school, try not to embarrass yourself, and dream for a future filled with roses and sunshine.
Anyone out of their twenties knows, it’s not all roses, there are cloudy days, but doesn’t it feel good to live your life; make some choices (hopefully good ones) and accept that life is not a storybook but it’s still worth reading every single page?
I hope this day finds you in a good place, appreciating yourself and those around you. Best, Clare.
If you’re looking for a good book that you can read a little at a time, check out my book “Kill Words” posting regularly on Kindle Vella.
https://www.amazon.com/kindle-vella/story/B0D2FVG7J9
It’s a suspense novel, coming of age for ‘good girl’ Maisey who gets herself mixed up with a cybercrime ring via a ‘friend’, Tyler on-line. They both find out they are in way more trouble than cybercrime. Check it out! First 10 episodes on Vella are free. After that, if the story has pulled you in, you’ll spend about $3 to read another 6 weeks worth of episodes. Thanks! Clare
