She didn’t blame Jonah for not believing her story.

When does a bus break down in front of a bar?

The bar where her blast from the past,

Just happened to be hosting a party,

A ‘made my first million’ party.

Every dollar had pulled him away from her.

She saw him sitting by himself,

Bodies dancing, laughing, all around.

Their eyes met and she knew,

The money hadn’t done it for him.

She knew what it meant when he strode across the room.

She was swept up by fate.

Who could blame her?

Well Jonah could.

And he did.

This Photo Challenge from Rochelle-Wisoff’s Friday Fictioneer definitely has a story behind it! There’s some wild explanation for the watering can hanging as it is. I took the implausibility of that unknown story and created an unlikely tale of my own! Hope you like it!

Thanks to Roger Bultot for the free fodder for fiction!

What could she do? Sometimes people are drawn together. I think Jonah will need to move on without her. Intriguing story, well written, Clare!

I had to read it a few times but it was worth it. I like how you kept the story going in a continuous stream. Seems like if she still cares for the x who cares what Jonah does anymore. Unless maybe parts of it didn’t happen that way… Fun story, Clare.

Fate works in mysterious ways. I take it Jonah didn’t take it well though, from the ominous last line.
